The Venue

The venue chosen for the Open Source India Tech Days '09 is Chennai Trade Center.

Chennai Trade Center The Chennai Trade Centre (CTC) is set up at a prime location in the Chennai metro at Nandambakkam, adjacent to St. Thomas Mount in an area of over2 5 acres of land with exhibition halls and support services. CTC has three halls – Hall No.1 (4,400 sq. mtrs), Hall No. 2 (1, 760 sq.mtrs.) and Hall No. 3 (4,400 sq.mtrs) with six meters height to display all merchandise including machinery. The Trade Centre is architecturally and technically designed to be a “state-of-the-art” Exhibition Complex. The Air – Conditioned halls, with no intermittent pillars or columns, are eminently suitable for multi-purpose use of organizing exhibitions, conferences, conventions and conducting other trade, commerce and industry-related events. All the halls are inter-linked and Hall No. 3 is connected with convention centre.

I have never been to Chennai. How do I find my way?

If you have any problems trying to figure out your way around the city, there is always Google Maps to help you out. We have already marked the venue in the embedded map below. We hope we managed to make life a little easier for you.

Are there any places to visit, in Chennai?

With its historic landmarks and buildings, long sandy beaches, cultural and art centers and parks, Chennai's tourism offers many interesting locations to visitors. One of the most important tourist attraction of Chennai is actually in the neighbouring town of Mahabalipuram with its ancient temples and rock carvings of the 7th century Pallava kingdom.

Chennai is the third most visited city in India by foreigners ranked after Delhi and Mumbai. About 650,000 tourists from USA, UK, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore have visited the city in 2007.
