Amit Shah has been working on the Linux kernel for several years now. He's an active developer for the Linux kernel hypervisor, KVM. Ashish Mathur

Ashish Mathur is a Software Architect for IBM Rational and has contributed to the development of Rational Test Tools for over a decade. Ashish has been active in the open source community and has lead the design and development of parts of the Test and Performance Tools Project (originally code-named Hyades) based on the Eclipse platform. He has also lead the adoption of these open source technologies into the Rational products. Some of the products that he has helped develop are Rational Test Manager, Rational Robot, Rational Performance Tester, Rational Functional Tester and more recently Rational Quality Manager based on the server-based Rational Jazz platform.
 
Ashok Krish

Krish Ashok heads the TCS Web 2.0 Innovation lab as part of its Corporate Technology Office and is a passionate open source enthusiast, especially inside the enterprise. Apart from his work in helping TCS and its customers embrace Web 2.0 both internally and externally, he also helped define the TCS Internal IT open source policy over the last two years aimed at increasing the adoption of FOSS inside TCS. When he is not busy micromanaging his research team, he does a bit of Ruby on Rails just to annoy other enterprise architects by telling them "Look. I can do what you can do in Java in 1/10th of time". Outside of work, he is a reasonably well known blogger (No. He does not blog on technology), an amateur violinist, guitarist and a fledgling pianist trying hard to impress his wife with a rendition of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Unknown to many, he also takes his evil open source propaganda on the airwaves once a week by hosting a show on technology on Chennai Live 104.8 FM, where he frequently asks his audience to go open source. Benhard Sitohang, Dr. Ir. (associate professor) is the director of Center for Empowerment of OSS – ITB (POSS-ITB). He is also affiliated with School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI). He has been associated with POSS-ITB as a founder, since 2007. He promotes for POSS Network in Indonesia (composed by POSS in 23 Universities along Indonesia archipelago). He has been a lecturer in Informatics study program since 1984, beside research in database and data mining systems. He has been appointed for several positions in ITB, i.e. Head of Dept. of Informatics in ITB (1989-1992 and 2000-2004); Secretary of Academic Senat of ITB (2000-2001) and Secretary of Academic Senat of STEI (2006-2008).

When in 2005, CA sold Ingres to Garnett & Helfrich Capital, John Smedley moved with Ingres into the new company, where he currently reports to the SVP of Engineering.

Lim Kin Chew looks after the Executive Graduate Diploma and Executive Master Programme on Open Source Software Management. His does research work on elearning standards. He is also the Chairman of Singapore’s Learning Standards Technical Committee (LSTC). He is also active in the Asia Open Source Software movement, having participated in all the ten conferences and meetings since 2003 when it was first organized by the Japanese government in Phuket, Thailand. He started using Linux and other open source software in the early 1990’s.

Dr Sasikumar is a senior research scientist and technical in-charge at the Navi Mumbai centre of CDAC Mumbai. He has been involved in a number of research projects at the centre for over 15 years, in various capacities. He is a regular faculty in CDAC Mumbai (formerly NCST)'s educational programmes. He has authored two books and a number of papers/articles. His group on educational technology has worked on a number of open source technologies in the area of e-learning. While the agenda of the meet was to discuss about the latest social media rage, businesses sprouting up around the same and marketing opportunities opening up, one of our look outs was to figure out how to amalgamate the open source ethos with micro-blogging services like Twitter and identi.ca.
